Dentistry:
Periodontal disease is the most prevalent disease in both dogs and cats, affecting 85% of pets over one year of age. A pet’s dental health is often overlooked until your pet stops eating, teeth fall out, or you need a gas mask to ride in the car together because of an animal’s mouth odor. Unfortunately, dentistry is an area that was largely ignored during veterinary school. Bacteria from periodontal disease can spread through the bloodstream and damage internal organs, and for this reason, Dr. Shelton has a special interest in providing the best dental care and advice for all patients. To accomplish this, she enrolled in special training for veterinary dentistry and stays current on research in this industry of veterinary care.

It is becoming quite obvious in the veterinary industry that one of the best ways to increase your pet’s life span and enhance the quality of that life is to provide good dental care. Crow River Animal Hospital & Dental Clinic provides quality dental services including; dental cleanings, dental x-rays, surgical extractions with bone grafts, root planning, and periodontal treatments.
